Harsch in the Bay Area

Harsch’s first acquisition in the Bay Area was the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley in 1955. A carefully-executed $20 million investment restored this landmark institution to its original splendor. For decades thereafter, it was one of the most sought-after facilities for business meetings and personal vacations.

In 1962, Harsch bought San Francisco’s leading medical/dental office building just off Union Square: the 450 Sutter Building. World-famous architect Timothy Pflueger designed and built this 26-story Mayan Deco masterpiece that today offers modern medical and professional office suites, ranging from 600 to 6,000 SF with state-of-the-art building systems. In addition to 450 Sutter, the company also owns and manages the 1,100 stall Mason O'Farrell Garage in Union Square.

The company’s East Bay portfolio includes the cities of San Leandro, Union City, Pleasanton and Livermore. The properties offer park-like settings to meet both major corporate and smaller tenant office and flex industrial needs.
